As the Open Golf final day is today-The fesival will run from Mon-Sat. However, on Sunday, in preparation for the festival the Portstewart Knitwits will be yarnbombing the pillars at the bandstand and a section of the railings on the Promenade.

Locally based Bubbles Dog Grooming will be holding a pet dog show as part of the Red Sails Festival. This is a fun event for the children and their dogs, classes will include:
1. Prettiest female dog over 1 year old
2. Handsomest male dog over 1 year old
3. Cutest puppy under a year
4. Best Senior Dog over 8 years old
5. Junior handler (participants will be asked to make their dog, walk at heel, sit, stay and perform a trick such as giving paw.)
6. Judges Best in Show.

2.00pm-4.00pm Walkabout Street Theatre-Fizzy The Fairy

 Fizzy is a happy-go-lucky, child-friendly, bubbly woodland fairy. She is highly interactive. She offers wishes from her tiny friend the wishing fairy who lives in her wand. She can also be seen attempting to fly and often gets a lot of welcome help from passers by who seem quite bemused with her escapades. Her best trick is her triple summersault dive. Some people have said she doesn't leave the ground but others can see it clearly! If a person is really special (usually a bright shining child) they get to turn her into anything they like with her wand. She generally loves to dance with her wand ribbon and play, amuse, sing and look pretty/silly!

3.00pm Cafe Music Session-Ruby MacIntosh

Ruby Macintosh is a vivacious singer songwriter from Yorkshire inspired by the music of the 50s and 60s. This retro pop siren with an air of nostalgia about her continues to captivate audiences up and down the country with her old school glamour and down to earth humor. Ruby studied at LIPA where she sang for Sir Paul McCartney, supported the Kooks at a secret gig and played at the Cavern for the prestigious Sound City festival in Liverpool.

Miss Shell is a mermaid of the highest comedic order. When she's not playing one of her sea songs on her ukulele she can often be found with her pet dolphin, Flipper, taking him for a walk or training him for the underwater dolphin krufts. She also recruits help for this from keen passersby.

Andy Rogers (not to be confused with Andy "Elvis" Rodgers) is a singer/songwriter with recordings on the EMI/Kingsway record label. His sound is described as Groovy Ethno-Celt Folk Pop (Imagine Dave Matthews meets Sting, they go down to an Irish pub and play a session with Kevin Prosch).

On his voyages to distant lands he has picked up a few tricks, he performs magic that will amaze, and juggling that will amuse.

Popular with young and old alike Captain Jones loves nothing more than to spin a good yarn, tell a good tale and crack a few jokes.

Oh we do love to be beside the seaside! Mr Hullabaloo, Jingles the Jester and Bobbon the Bear visit the seaside to hear tales of Pirates and Mermaids. Then we pay a visit to Fairy Twinkles summer garden in the Fairy Glen. But watch out for the naughty little rascal Troubleena trampling all over the Summer flowers! Come celebrate the magic of Summertime with Mr Hullabaloo.

12noon Children’s Red Sails Got Talent Registration                                    

DSC_0257Entries will be taken from 12 noon for the competition, which starts at 2.00pm. The competition is free to enter. There are two age categories 5-10 years and 11-16 years and there are prizes for the first three in each section. Dancers will need to provide a cd or pen drive with their dance music. Dance performance will be at the concrete area beside the bandstand and dance routines must be suitably safe to perform in this area.

Roary the Dinosaur will be visiting Portstewart and will be roaming the Crescent area. Roary the T.Rex is captivating for both adults and children. With life like sounds and facial expressions, the T.Rex really fools you into believing you are walking with Dinosaurs!

There will also be two 20 min Dino Shows at the Crescent Bandstand. At 12.50pm and 5pm

Performing a combination of African dance, daring acrobatics and circus tricks. Mr. Mess is trying to go about his business but accidents are never far away. From uppity umbrellas to bursting balloons, nothing is going to plan. With a smile on his face & a giggle in his heart, Mr. Mess fumbles his way through the simplest of tasks. He is lanky, he’s foolish & there’s more to his briefcase than meets the eye!

Visit the Game of Thrones style Throne, mermaid Photo stand and Robinsoe Crusoe Castaway sets and take a free selfie. or make a minimum £2 donation and hire a Throne costume for a selfie. VLDD are officially the first (and only) studio in Northern Ireland qualified to put students through their associate teaching with NATD.
